1. Who we are

At Travel Traum, we aim to make your travel dreams a reality. Our goal is to simplify your adventures, helping you explore effortlessly, whether you seek adventure, relaxation, or cultural experiences. 

 

2. What information we collect and why

When you browse or make a booking on Travel Traum we gather several kinds of information.

a) Billing/Contact details – Your name, e-mail address, telephone number and billing address. We need these details to confirm your booking, send you travel documents and provide support. The legal basis is performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6 (1)(b)).

b) Trip information – The pickup and drop-off addresses you enter, the date and time of travel, the number of passengers and any luggage notes. We use this information to calculate distance, price the journey, dispatch the appropriate vehicle and show the driver where to meet you. This is also processed under the performance-of-contract basis.

c) Payment information – We receive a payment token, masked card digits, transaction ID and status from our payment provider (Viva). Full card numbers are handled only by the payment processor. This data lets us charge you, issue refunds and prevent fraud. The legal bases are contract and our legitimate interest in securing payments.

d) Location data via Google Maps – When you type addresses the Google Places service returns geographic coordinates. We pass those coordinates to Google’s Distance Matrix API solely to show you the route, distance and price. You provide this data voluntarily, so the basis is consent.

 

3. Who we share your data with

We treat your information confidentially and only pass it to third parties when necessary for the service or when the law requires it. Typical recipients are:

a) Payment processors such as Viva, which receive the minimum data required to authorize and settle transactions.

b) Our hosting provider, which stores the website and database on secure EU/EEA servers.

c) Google LLC, because we use its Maps, Places Autocomplete and Distance Matrix services to calculate routes and prices.

d) E-mail delivery services (WP Mail SMTP plugin) that send booking confirmations and service messages.

e) Public authorities when we are legally obliged to disclose data for taxation, law-enforcement or court orders.

We never sell or rent your personal data and we do not permit partners to use it for their own marketing.

 

4. Security

Some of the technologies we use for your security:

a) HTTPS/TLS encryption

b) Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate

c) PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways through our payment partner Viva (we never store full card numbers)

d) Firewall, Reverse Proxy & malware scanning on our servers

e) Role-based access for staff

f) Regular security updates & backups

 

5. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed to deliver the service and meet legal or accounting obligations.

a) Booking and invoice records are stored for six years, in line with tax regulations.

b) Standard anonymized nalytics and usage data collected through Google Analytics is set to expire after fourteen months.

After each retention period expires we securely erase or anonymize the data.

 

6. Your rights

You may at any time:

a) Obtain a copy of your data (right of access)

b) Correct inaccurate data (rectification)

c) Delete data (erasure) where no legal basis remains

d) Restrict or object to processing in certain cases

e) Receive your data in portable format (data portability)
